PETER J. DEWEY
was working in Cross's bakery at Montpelier when he enlisted.
Was nineteen years old, straight and soldier like in all his
movements, and very good looking. He was a favorite with both
officers and men, always performed his duties faithfully, and was
a brave soldier. He engaged in mercantile business, and did a
successful business in Montpelier for many years. He has retired
from active business, and is enjoying the fruits of his labors,
and is still vigorous and healthy.
